Wind Thinning
Reduce the air resistance
Wind thinning, Canopy Thinning or Wind Sailing, is a common practice for all species of trees, usually the ones most susceptible to damage from wind. The goal is to reduce the amount of foliage in the canopy to reduce how much it moves in the wind. This is done by removing dead, diseased, broken, and crossing limbs and those with weak attachment points to the parent stem or trunk, and selectively removing additional limbs if necessary. Allowing wind to pass through the canopy with more ease will decrease the amount of potential stress from wind and make the tree safer and healthier by doing so.
Vista Pruning
"I can see the mountains now!"
Vista Pruning is a special type of pruning that is done with the goal of improving a view. This is typically done by reducing the height of trees to older cuts from previously completed pruning, or establishing a new desired height from new or old trees. Vista pruning can also be accomplished in some cases by removing or trimming back select libs or creating "windows" within one or more canopies. When these jobs are done, your view will be the best on the block!
Firewood
We'll cut it up and haul it away
Once the trees are safely topped and brushed out, we then start the process of "chunking down" the tree. Usually the wood is lowered down in sections, dropped in pieces into a landing zone, or in some cases a large stick can be felled. If the wood comes down in long lengths, we usually cut it up into 16-18 inch lengths, which is the general size that will fit into most wood stoves and fireplaces. We understand that not everyone has a fireplace, wood stove, or fire pit, so for that reason, we can also haul the wood away for an additional cost. And if you are looking to buy some firewood, then we may have some available to deliver to you.
What does it involve?
When you hire us, you ensure that your trees will be trimmed or removed safely. We’ll use the best practices the industry has to offer so that our work can be done safely, efficiently, and at the best price that we can offer. Some jobs take more than others, so we make sure to have all the tools and equipment needed for each job, and apply our experience and knowledge to execute the plan of action.
How does it work?
First, we come to your residence or business to assess the your tree care needs: Is there a hedge that needs trimming? Fruit trees out of control? Do we need to simply drop a tree? Does it need to be climbed? Does anything need to be lowered on a rope?
We evaluate the situation and make our recommendations to you, and work together to figure out what will work best as far as your needs, wants, and budget are. After we come up with a game plan together, we tell you exactly what we expect it will take to get the job done properly and provide an estimate. From there we agree on a price and get you scheduled for the project. On the starting day of the project, we will arrive at your property, do another quick walkthrough before we get started to make sure that we are all on the same page before the work begins, and when we believe that we have accomplished the goal and completed the scope of work, we will do another walk through with you to ensure that you are satisfied before we collect payment.
