Tree service in Woodinville and the Sammamish valley
Woodinville is a different kind of lot from most of our list. The valley floor along the Sammamish is flat and open, and then the ground rises on both sides into wooded hillsides where houses sit among mature second growth conifer rather than beside it. Plenty of properties here have a genuine stand of trees rather than a handful, which changes the conversation entirely: you are managing a piece of woodland, not deciding about one fir. Cedar, Douglas fir and big leaf maple dominate, the hillsides are steeper than they look from the road, and the trees are frequently taller than anything you will find on a suburban lot to the north.

The most useful thing we do on a wooded Woodinville property is walk it as a whole. When a stand has been thinned over the years, or a house has been dropped into the middle of one, individual trees end up exposed that spent their first forty years sheltered by their neighbors. Those are the ones that move in wind, because they never grew the taper or the root spread that a lone tree develops.
From there the work is usually a mix rather than one service. Deadwood out of the crowns near the house, some end weight reduction on the exposed edge trees, a genuine removal where something is failing, and often a view cut where the hillside would give you a valley outlook if two crowns were opened up. One of us walks the property and tells you what each tree needs, to the standard our certified arborist set, which is what the certification is actually for.

Questions from Woodinville
I have a whole stand of trees, not one tree. Where do I start?
With a walk around it, which is what the free estimate visit is. On a wooded lot the useful output is not a number for one tree, it is a read on which trees are the priority and why: what is dead, what is newly exposed, what is over the house and what can safely be left alone for another five years. Plenty of customers then do it in stages across a couple of seasons.
Are the trees here bigger than in the rest of your area?
On the hillside lots, often yes. Sheltered second growth conifer grows tall and straight, and a tree that spent decades inside a stand can be a serious height with a narrow crown. That affects how it is rigged and how much room is needed on the ground, which is why the estimate happens at the tree rather than from a description over the phone.
Have a certified arborist look at it
Tell us what the trees are doing and we will come out, walk the property with you and write it up. The visit is free, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes, and you get an itemized estimate you can hold on to.
